About this Web site

This site has existed, in one form or another, since the spring of 1995. It was the first Web site devoted to the town of Almonte, and is currently (April 2003) the only one, although others have come and gone in the intervening years.

From its inception the site has been my personal project, and has never been subsidized or otherwise endorsed by any municipal agency. I pay for it myself, and own the almonte.com domain name. I am solely responsible for its content.

As a result, the site is sometimes not as current as I might prefer; I already invest a fair bit of money and effort into maintaining it, and often the demands of my job as webmaster of the Bank of Canada keep me from devoting it my full attention. (Although as a friend observed awhile back, "So your site is like the town — nothing ever changes too much". Fair enough.)
