Almonte brass band, circa 1870

I came across your site today and wondered if you might be interested in an old photograph I received recently of my great-great uncle John King Home and his brass band taken by Albert Farr, photographer, Cole's Hall, Almonte, Ont.

John K. Home moved to Almonte in 1861 from Prescott when he married Lois Teskey from Appleton in September of 1861. John Home had a tin shop on Mill street (I have found ads from the mid to late 60s in the newspapers) and then he moved to Hamilton in about 1878. I have more data but I thought it might be interesting to someone involved in the history of Almonte. There are 8 men all holding their instruments. I would love to get some local feedback as well.
