I was lucky to make it back to Almonte in September, 2011. It holds a special meaning for me as my Uncle and Aunt lived there and I spent some very special times with them.Submitted by sally <smacfayden@yahoo.ca>

Spend every summer in Almonte - 1971-84. Ate ice cream on the rocks behind the post office, went for pancakes at the firehall, and met some amazing people. My Almonte past is part of who I am todaySubmitted by Kelley Miller
Almonte is a beautiful town with so many attractions in or around the town for both adults and children. It is however the most Child unfriendly town I have ever been to. Several restaurants are set up so children and the parents will be uncomfortable (Cafe Postino and the Crepe restaurant for example) they do not provide highchairs or booster seats and are not apologetic about it, in fact at Cafe Postino our service was poor and they made it very clear we were not welcome. It would also not be accessible if you were physically limited. If I cannot get a stroller into the restaurants I cannot even imagine being able to get a wheelchair or walker into them. There are so many lovely areas in Ontario I think if asked I would recommend an area that is accepting of all people.Submitted by Jennifer Wall
We went to Almonte in July to see our eldest granddaughter play soccer. It was beautiful late afternoon, and before the game started, our son Matt and we had dinner at the Superior restaurant. What a lovely meal! And the owner chatted with us all about the history of Almonte---it was fun. Then onto the game, which our team lost.Submitted by Lorie & David Brillinger <lorie_brillinger@hotmail.com>
