Search the Canadian County Atlas Digital Project

The Canadian County Atlas Digital Project is hosted by McGill University's Rare Books and Special Collections Division. It contains the digitized contents of forty county atlases published between 1874 and 1881, and is a useful source of genealogical data on people living in Lanark County during that period.

Note that this data is far from being all-inclusive. As the Project staff explain:

"Unfortunately, only the names of subscribers [to the atlases] were recorded on the township maps... Prominent county residents paid an additional sum to have biographical sketches, portraits and views of their residences or businesses included in the atlases."
